Our Star Student Mary-Jane recently completed a 3-Day (60-mile) Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk (Ahem, Nordic Walk!!). We remain amazed at what an Avid Nordic Walker she is. Of-course she uses the Nordic Walking style and poles to be ahead of the pack, always, hahahaha... Here is what she had to say...
"I did it! I actually walked the whole 60 miles! I really didn’t think I had it in me, but somehow found the strength! I did compromise, and used 1 walking stick for my bum foot! It did help. I found it easier to handle than 2 for rest stops, etc!
I signed up for the next fitness room class - also the Nordic walking! This is George. He’s 90, does all 4 walks! Says he’s going to slow down & only do 2 next year! So, I’ll see you soon."
George is going to "Slow-Down" to two(60miles each) walks when he is 91!! Can you believe it??? George and Mary-Jane, you are an inspiration to us all!!
Mary-Jane is a regular Breast Cancer Awareness Ambassador. She has been a long time Nordic Walker and often participates in Nordic Walking and other fitness events.
