What a differece a week makes in the Northeast.  Whereas last week was a balmy 34F, this week was a chilly 14F.  As usual it was a gorgeous and sunny, albeit a bit chilly day. But nothing the hardy New Englanders cannot handle.  We tend to be fearless with our Micro-spikes.  Yes, it was quite cold. The brook that was babbling and alive just last week seemed to be frozen solid this week. But no worries, Spring is round the corner ;).

We split into two groups since we had a new participant. Denise wanted me to lead the seasoned group and go forth while she setup the new participant with Micro-spikes and Nordic-walking Poles.  The seasoned troopers made short work of the hike. We traversed 3.26miles in about 2:06hrs with an average pace of about 38mins/mile. Great work, given that a good sections of the trail were uneven with frozen tracks(yeah, nice hard ice).
